Anointing

An anointing is a specialized form of spiritual healing typically facilitated with holy water, flower essences or essential oils, like frankincense, myrrh, rose or lavender. Using the sacred liquid, the minister gives a blessing, usually within a ceremony, and in times of transition or distress (such as illness or death).

This form of spiritual healing can also be used to create Sacred Grounds, in which a building is blessed and designated as a sanctuary or sacred space. A Sacred Grounds ceremony within our church happens with the participation of the congregation, typically once a year.
